Hi, I'm Jon

I am a behavioral scientist and Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at WashU.

I study judgment and decision making, with an emphasis on uncertainty: how people form beliefs, make judgments, and choose what is best in light of uncertain information and situations.

My research spans many domains of behavioral science, including: risk perception, behavioral ethics, social norms and inferences, and behavioral interventions to improve individual decisions.

I am personally and professionally interested in Effective Altruism, including ways that decision science may support EA causes.

About Me

I have a PhD in Behavioral Decision Making from UCLA. Previously I was a teacher and leader at Collegiate Academies in New Orleans and a Teach For America corps member.

Born and raised in St. Louis, I hold a BA in philosophy from Brown University.
